The Nathan Hale Society

Welcome to the Nathan Hale Society. We are dedicated to preserving the memory of Connecticut’s State Hero and the places and times which his short but famous life touched.

Nathan Hale was the first American Spy killed in the line of duty, while fighting for our freedom during the American Revolution. Nathan was caught by the British on Long Island while gathering information for General Washington. He was sentenced by the British General Howe and then executed at 11 o’clock on September 22, 1776.
